Phaya Tao Ruean (House Turtle) is one of famous and well known magic subject in Thailand. According to Legend, Phaya Tao Ruean is Bodhisattva who sacrifice himself to save humans from danger and starvation. The legend refer in one part of Tripitaka, in previous life of Buddha Tossaphon he was born as Bodhisattva-turtle and have very large body equal to house so Thai people will called Tao Ruean (House Turtle). He has living  on a hilltop of deserted island in the middle of the sea.

There are a group of merchants were sailing in the sea but accidentally got a storm hit that make their ship got wreck on deserted island.  

But there is no food and no animals on this island that make the merchants were starving and going to die soon. The Bodhisattva-turtle saw them and felt sympathy to those merchants. Bodhisattva-turtle was thought that he has living for long time and have large fresh body. When he pass alway his body will got rot and return to the earth and it will be waste. Therefore, he has determind to sacrifice his life to save those merchants by falling down from the cliff to end his life and let body as a food to feed the merchants. 

Therefore, magic teachers in ancient times have created Phaya Tao Ruean with the belief that it will make it a good trade because Phaya Tao is in one of previous life of the Lord Buddha when he has born as turtle he sacrificed his flesh and blood in order to help the poor animals. Many ancient magic teachers will used Phaya Tao Ruean Yantra to tattooed on skin and made amulets to worship. It is auspicious amulet and have ability like as wishing crystal, it will granted wealth, bring a lot of money and progressive in career.
