"อิ่น" หรือ "อิ้น" คือสุดยอดเครื่องรางด้านมหาเสน่ห์เมตตาค้าขายแห่งล้านนา มีมาแต่โบราณ สร้างด้วยวัสดุหลายชนิดอาทิ โลหะ ไม้ หิน ผง ว่าน เป็นต้น คนโบราณจะอาราธนาพกพาเดินทางไปต่างถิ่นไม่พบปะผู้คน ไปแอ่วสาวแอ่วบ่าวก็ดี ขึ้นหาเจ้าเฝ้าหานายก็ดี ไปก้าไปขายก็ดี จึงเป็นเครื่องรางที่คนล้านนาเชื่อถือมาแต่โบราณ
ครูบาฐากูรได้นำ "ไม้มะยมตายพราย" มาแกะเป็นอิ้น ซึ่งไม้มะยมตายพรายเป็นของอาถรรพ์มีดีในตัว ธรรมชาติสร้างมาให้ขลัง ถือเป็นมวลสารชั้นเลิศ เชื่อถือกันมาแต่โบราณ ว่าสามารถสะกดให้ผู้คนนิยม ชมชอบ ชื่นชมขนาดกิ่งมะยมตายพรายที่ถูกนำมาแกะเป็นนางพราย,รักยม หรือเครื่องรางต่างๆก็ยังเข้มขลังมีฤทธิ์ในตัว แต่ไม้มะยมตายพรายนี้ยิ่งเหนือชั้นกว่าเป็นเท่าทวีคูณ
ส่วนที่มาชื่อสะดุดหูของอิ้นรุ่นนี้ คือมีลูกศิษย์หนุ่มท่านนึง เห็นว่ารูปลักษณ์ของอิ้น ดูไปดูไปก็เหมือนกระต่าย และด้วยสิทธิคุณที่อิ้นสำแดงออกมาหลังจากนำไปใช้ ค่อนข้างเน้นหนักไปในทางเสน่ห์เมตตา จนมีประสบการณ์มีหญิงสาวมาติดพันหลายคน บางรายถึงขั้นถอดผ้าปลดสไบให้เชยชม เรียกว่าประสบการณ์ที่พบเจอมาไม่ต่างไปจาก "เพลย์บอย" ที่มีสัญลักษณ์เป็นรูปกระต่ายเลย จึงมีการเรียกชื่ออิ้นรุ่นนี้กันในหมู่ลูกศิษย์ว่า "อิ้นเถาะ (อิ้นกระต่าย)" กันมาตั้งแต่กาลบัดนั้น
เป็นงานศิลป์แกะด้วยมือทีละองค์ ฝีมือแบบชาวบ้าน มีอัตลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวแบบไม่เหมือนใคร อาจจะไม่สวยงามแบบฝีมือช่างแกะอาชีพ ขนาดอิ่นแต่ละตัวอาจไม่เท่ากันเสมอไปเพราะเป็นงานแกะมือ เนื่องด้วยครูบาฐากูรได้จ้างชาวบ้านในระแวกอำเภอสะเมิงมาช่วยแกะให้ เพื่อเป็นการอนุเคราะห์สงเคราะห์ญาติโยมคนเฒ่าคนแก่ให้มีรายได้ไว้เลี้ยงลูกเลี้ยงหลานใช้จ่ายในครอบครัว เรียกว่าเจตนาดีตั้งแต่เริ่มสร้างเลยทีเดียว โดยครูบาฐากูรท่านได้นำมาจารอักขระหัวใจ แล้วอธิษฐานจิตปลุกด้วยวิชาอิ่นล้านนาดั้งเดิมหลายแขนง
