อาจารย์นิวท่านว่า "คนเราถ้าใจดีมากเกินไปก็มักถูกเอารัดเอาเปรียบ คนบางพวกก็ไม่มีความเกรงอกเกรงใจให้กัน ถ้าเป็นคนดีเกินไปแล้วไม่มีคนเกรงใจมันก็คงไม่ใช่เรื่องดี ผมเลยนำแก่นไม้มะขามตายพรายมาแกะเป็นแพะ เพื่ออาศัยอานุภาพของไม้มงคลชนิดนี้ตามความเชื่อที่ถูกส่งทอดกันมา มาเสริมแพะของผม ให้เป็นแพะที่เก่งในทางปกครองคน ให้คนยำเกรง ให้คนเกรงขาม ให้เป็นที่ครั่นคร้ามของคนทั้งหลาย ใครนำไปใช้นำไปบูชาเพื่อประกอบสัมมาอาชีพ จะได้ไม่ตกเป็นเบี้ยล่างเขา ได้เป็นยอดคนเหนือบัลลังก์ ที่ไม่มีใครหน้าไหนจะมากดขี่ข่มเหงได้"

แพะเป็นสัตว์ศักดิ์สิทธิ์
• ถ้ามีวัตถุมงคลรูปแพะแล้ว จะสามารถปกป้องคุณไสยและสิ่งไม่ดีต่างๆที่ จะมาทำร้ายเจ้าของแพะได้ เพราะแพะจะรับสิ่งไม่ดีแทนเจ้าของไปเองและจะทำให้เจ้าของปลอดภัย จึงเป็นที่มาของคำว่า “แพะรับบาป”
